Bartlett Activities Center — Reality Capture

Overview

Facility assessment and reality capture for Bartlett ISD — drone photogrammetry, NavVis VLX interior LiDAR, orthophoto DOM, and School Evaluation Questionnaire in one coordinated September 2025 campaign. A scan alone or photos alone don't support renovation planning; Bartlett ISD needed the complete picture.

My Role

  • Drone survey: 65+ geo-referenced oblique photos on a systematic flight path for full exterior coverage from multiple angles and altitudes
  • Generated orthophoto DOM (digital orthophoto map) — geo-referenced site documentation of building footprint and exterior conditions
  • Interior LiDAR: room-by-room NavVis VLX scan producing two E57 point clouds of all interior spaces
  • Completed facility assessment: School Evaluation Questionnaire and On-Site Assessment documentation for district capital planning
Outcome

Orthophoto DOM, two E57 interior point clouds, and structured facility assessment — complete as-built record for renovation planning.

Overview

Plano East SHS is a $51M additions and renovations project — 43,250 SF of new construction including two practice gyms, locker rooms, and site structures, plus heavy renovation of Units C and D and CTE classroom conversion in Unit B3. The campus Panthers mascot sculpture needed to appear in project renderings, but no 3D model existed. Close-range photogrammetry was the solution: 464 photos captured with a Sony A7V, processed in RealityCapture into a sub-15K polygon mesh that dropped directly into the Enscape workflow.

My Role

  • Captured the sculpture across 464 photos using systematic close-range coverage
  • Processed in RealityCapture; delivered mesh integrated into Enscape project visualizations for the DD presentation
Outcome

Existing sculpture in the renders — no manual modeling required.
