Summary
Four years at WRA Architects — intern to BIM Coordinator — at a Texas firm that does K-12 education exclusively. In the coordinator role, I own the systems every project runs on: Revit template, ACC administration, family library, model compliance review, and BIM training. I also do the field work most coordinators don’t: NavVis VLX and Leica BLK ARC laser scanning, point cloud processing, and scan-to-BIM integration on active renovation projects. That combination — firm-level infrastructure plus hands-on reality capture — is what makes this role different.
Experience
BIM Coordinator · WRA Architects
Jan 2024 – Present
- Administer Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) as Project Admin on all active WRA projects — sole point of contact for consultant access, design collaboration setup, and model permission management across the firm portfolio
- Maintain the Revit template that propagates wall types, view templates, annotation families, shared parameters, and drawing standards to every new project automatically; updates propagate firm-wide
- Maintain the firm’s family library (Content Catalogue, replacing UNIFI firm-wide); manage family uploads, naming standards, and door/window library maintenance
- Run cross-project model compliance reviews — flag non-standard worksets, view naming violations, stray geometry, and missing parameters before they reach consultants
- Serve as first-response Revit troubleshooting support for all production staff across modeling, view setup, worksets, linked files, families, sheets, and schedules
- Built the firm’s reality capture program from the ground up — selected equipment, developed field and processing workflows, and delivered scan-to-BIM on active renovation projects using NavVis VLX and Leica BLK ARC; manage scan processing, registration, E57 conversion via ReCap Pro, and site access coordination
- Conduct UAV site documentation as FAA Part 107 pilot — scanned over 200 educational facilities and sites; mission planning in DJI Terra, aerial data acquisition, and point cloud processing for construction progress monitoring and as-built documentation
- Built an in-browser PDF editor (Fabric.js + pdf.js + pdf-lib) for markup, annotation, and page editing — zero-install alternative to licensed PDF tools, adopted internally for document review workflows
- Develop and maintain an LLM-assisted BIM knowledge base covering all 8 project phases — TEA compliance requirements, drawing standards, coordinator workflows, and phase deliverables — with automated lesson generation and spaced repetition review for active retention
Architectural Staff · WRA Architects
May 2022 – Dec 2023
- Produced BIM drawings on a 38,700 SF addition at Lakeview Centennial High School — floor plans, elevations, and casework from pre-design through DD on a two-story classroom wing with 20 classrooms and storm shelter
- Developed cafeteria, auditorium, gymnasium, and athletic support spaces — detailed design through DD on active K-12 campuses
- Authored floor plans and interior elevations for a 6,700 SF administrative addition and 15,000 SF cafeteria expansion at Naaman Forest High School
- Designed dance studio, locker room, science lab, and athletic facility relocations and renovations across active K-12 campuses
- Led visualization on Dallas ISD Career Institute West — 22+ interior rendered views and a 6-option stairwell design study used as a client decision tool at the DD review
- Produced rendering packages for Whitesboro ISD High School Additions (22+ views across 4 buildings) and City of Terrell Fire Station (14 views) for SD and DD board and council presentations
Design Intern · WRA Architects
Apr 2021 – Dec 2021
- Conducted 3D laser scanning of K-12 educational facilities, processing point cloud data for as-built documentation and BIM integration — foundation for the firm’s current reality capture program
